Worship & Music

Music

Music is a large part of our worship at St. Thomas.
Our superb choir sings a fine repertoire of Anglican anthems, psalms, spirituals, motets and service music both traditional and contemporary. Our choir is well-known and respected in the community for its fine
singing and musicianship.  The Parish Choir regularly provides music for the 10:15 A.M. Sunday Choral Eucharist Services. In addition, the choir performs in concerts and extra services, both within the Parish and
beyond. The Choir is mainly comprised of volunteers, who are supported by Staff Singers. Although not necessary, some previous choral experience is desired.

Practice: Each Sunday the choir practices from 9:50 AM until 10:00 AM in the Choir Loft. Occasionally there are a few Wednesday night rehearsals, from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., especially before special events and holidays, like Christmas and Holy Week.
The choir family also sponsors social events for members, and has in the past participated in choir tours, most recently to Italy, where the choir participated in a Solemn Mass at the high altar of St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Choir always welcomes new members.  If you would like to join, please contact our office (305) 661-3436 or Dr. Eugene Greco egreco@stepsmia.org.
